Well, even though I can't go to the Atlanta Expo this year, I'm going to post the link for it. Last night, I found myself talking to a lady who quilts but had never been, so I told her if she'd stop by here today she could get all the info.
So, for my quilting buddy (and anyone else who's interested), here 'tis:
The Original Sewing and Quilt Expo: Atlanta
I gotta say, it's a great venue for it...the Gwinett Expo Center in Duluth is really pretty and, best of all, parking is free! If you've never been, check out the info and be sure to look at all the classes offered in your area of interest.
Wish I could make it this year...
Hi! So, I have an idea / offer. I live in Lakeland, Florida, about 1.5 hours from Tampa, Florida, and the Original Quilt and Sewing Expo is being held in Tampa near the end of March. It's a bit of a haul from Rocket City to Lakeland (11-12 hours) but you (and a friend) would be welcome to stay at our house for free if you wanted to attend the Expo in Tampa... I did a quick check of the Class Brochure and Cynthia Guffey is offering her zipper class in Tampa too! We have a nice guest "suite" with two small single beds and a private bathroom. You could even keep your food costs down by (a) eating dinners with us (although no promises for gourmet meals) and (b) keeping lunch supplies in our kitchen. I realize that it's not ideal - a long drive to FL and there's still the cost of the Expo - but we'd love to have you if this puts Expo back into reach of your budget. And if you rounded up a friend to join you, then you could share the driving. Shoot me an email and we can talk more about it: gwendolyn_campbell@hotmail.com
