A Quarter Century...

I thought, in honor of celebrating 25 years of motherhood, I'd do a little retrospective of the various garments I've sewn for my firstborn down through the ages.

I got the highlights of the first five years. Several of those garments I'd totally forgotten about. Wow.

Sometimes I matched her to me...sometimes to her brother...sometimes to her cousin.

And that's really only about half of it...just the better things.

I didn't realize I accomplished so much!

But I had a hard time finding photos that showed the clothes; I guess I was more interested in taking pictures of the kids! Imagine! LOL....

  1. what a great retrospective Lisa! Great looking kids and clothes. I cut out a little bear sweatsuit tonight for my grandson. I made the same pattern 28 years ago for his mother. Brings a tear to my eye... :)

  2. Aw, Happy Birthday! It was my son's birthday on the 17th too, he was 16. Sniff. It goes by too fast! I would honestly go back for a day or two, just to cuddle my fat baby again.

I LOVE the photo of you and your daughter, AND I had to laugh at the photo of her feeding the baby with her brother on the floor beside her. It looks like she's just totally ignoring him while she shoves that baby bottle in her dollies mouth. So cute!

  4. I have all the clothes I made for my daughter in a bin because I can't bear to part with them. I was raised by my great-aunt and before she took me on to raise at 15 months old she gathered some clothes from friends. I still have those dresses, most of which are home-sewn. My daughter's are additions to our collection. Great post. We do so often forget all we have sewn.
    Happy Birthday!

  5. Most of these were hand-me-downed to other kids; The Flute Player actually wore a few of them.

Some have actually survived enough to be passed on after she wore them.

I have that first burgundy velvet dress in a box, though... ;)
