Disconnections

I've been sewing...and doing laundry...today; with any luck I'll have my camp shirt finished up by tomorrow evening.

So I'm going to vent just a little about nothing whatever to do with sewing.

Somebody who's been there...please tell me that this mental fog that I'm experiencing is hormonal and will clear up when everything finally settles down.

Case in point: The Actor came to me tonight with a question about a large twisty lollipop. I intended to tell him to wrap it in cellophane and whack it with a hammer to break the candy off the stick.

What came out of my mouth was 'Wrap it up in chocolate.'

Something similar happens on a daily basis. When I don't lose the word I want altogether.

Scary!

But I'm hoping it is temporary....

  1. Oh heck, that happens to me all the time. I noticed it first happened about 8 years ago (and I was only 31 then). I`m constantly forgetting words or using the wrong words or stumbling over words. The other day I instructed my husband to go in the drawer and get the `scooper eating things` - I wanted a spoon and couldn`t find the word! ;)

  2. Um, yeh, not going to give any examples, but I do it all the time. Completely draw a blank. You know that 'deer in the headlights' look ?

If it's temporary, let me know, I could use the hope ! LOL!

  3. Shannon, you made me laugh!

    We'll all hope it's a temporary condition... ;)

  4. That happens to me more than I would like to admit! I hope you had time to work on your shirt this weekend. Can't wait to see the finished product!

  5. I can't count the number of times I've done something similar. I wish I could tell you it's temporary but I'm still in the thick of it and looking for that lighted tunnel end myself.
I love "scooper eating thing"! I do that kind of thing all the time too! Hey, it works... people, usually, know what I'm talking about... and that's what really matters. Now if he'd brought out a spatula that would have been bad.

  6. Or it could be the result of men-o-pause! The further I got along in the change of life (nuthin like the circle of life let me tell you!) the more I forget words...just go blank...*sigh*

  7. Yeah, Carolyn, that's what I'm hopin'. Hopefully, when I get to the other side, I'll....um,....what was I going to say? I'll think of it in a minute....
