It's in the Bag

The only things I had time to purchase Friday between classes were my micro-tip scissors and the new rotary cutter and replacement blades. Everything else I bought, I bought on Saturday. I took my Weekender Bag in as my shopping tote; figured that would keep me from getting my pink bag confused w/everyone else's pink bag. What I didn't figure on was cramming the thing so full the tab started to pull out. (EEK) As soon as we got to the car I moved some of the stuff to the Expo bag to give the poor Weekender some relief!

But I bought a bunch of fabulous fabric and, alas, must return to the NO FABRIC moratorium whist I sew it up. I gotta be at least close to parity before the annual pilgrimage to Nashville and Muna Couture and Textile Fabrics in mid-July.

I haven't even added it up yet...I'm kinda scared...

Oh, and it was snowing in Atlanta Saturday morning. Big, feathery snowflakes. It was beautiful...if only it had been Christmas!

  1. Sounds like you had a great time.
I'm always so inspired by your restraint and ability to stick to moratorium, but ... we want to see the new fabrics.
What's going on in Nashville in July?

  2. What a great trip and snow, too! I was going to ask you about Nashville - I am flying into Nashville in late April when I go to the AQS show in Paducah. I thought you might know of some fabric stores there. If you can give me the names, I can get directions from the internet. I won't be arriving until 3p or so, but I think I can squeeze in a little fabric shopping!

  3. Hi from LindsayT! Visiting your blog for the first time, and I like it! I've added you to my links list, and it's nice to see mine on yours. Reciprocity, right?!

  4. Every year in July, Textile Fabrics has a 50% off all fabrics sale and I try to grab a couple of sewing buddies and do a day trip. TF is an indy store with NICE fabric, but it is a little pricey and the half-price sale is my chance to get something nice in my budget...plus, it's a lot of fun to do a sewing road trip.

One of these days, Summerset, I need to meet up with you when you're on this side of the Mason-Dixon line ;)

  5. Here's the Textile Fabric's website:

Textile Fabrics. If you've got time, you might stop by Muna Couture, too; Muna is a custom dressmaker who also sells some very high-end fabrics and is just a precious lady!

Those are the only two indy fabric stores I know of in the Nashville area...

And Hi, Lindsay! I'm always surprised when I visit a blog that I've never seen and spot my link!
